Jawharat Al-Qassim is a large-scale urban planning and development project for which Radian prepared the vision and urban and architectural master plan. It occupies more than 3.8 million m² in Buraidah, on a strategic site connected to the city’s major arterial routes.

Radian developed an integrated mixed-use master plan bringing together residential and commercial neighbourhoods, mixed uses, hospitality, education, healthcare, culture and leisure. A major central park, water features and open areas form its core, with components linked by a hierarchy of roads, corridors, entrances and circulation routes. Open spaces total approximately 443,000 m², in addition to more than 55,000 m² of water areas.

The development comprises residential complexes and neighbourhoods, villas and apartments, a shopping centre and markets, a five-star hotel, a specialist hospital, schools and educational facilities, a congregational mosque, a museum, a sports city and a central park. It also includes a cultural village inspired by Arab architectural styles, particularly Najdi, Damascene and Gulf architecture.

Radian placed particular emphasis on the development’s urban identity. The design concept draws on Al-Qassim’s historical role as a link between the regions of the Arabian Peninsula, translating this idea into a green urban axis around which the development’s principal centres and destinations are arranged. Individual neighbourhoods and components receive distinct architectural treatments.

The scale of the urban programme is reflected in more than 1,000 homes comprising villas and apartments and 14 residential complexes, alongside a shopping centre and healthcare, educational, cultural, leisure and hospitality facilities. The vision is to create an integrated urban destination rather than simply a residential subdivision.
