King Salman bin Abdulaziz Hospital, May God Protect Him – Al-Qassim Region
InquiryEmergency Structural Remediation of a 300-Bed Healthcare Facility
King Salman bin Abdulaziz Hospital is a major healthcare facility in Al-Qassim Region with a capacity of 300 beds. During construction, a fire affected parts of critical structural elements, requiring specialist engineering work to assess the damage, remediate the building and ensure its safety before completion.
Radian Engineering Consultancy carried out inspections, investigations and structural assessments of the affected areas, analysed the effects of the fire, and determined the extent of damage to concrete and structural elements. It then developed engineering solutions and structural designs for repair, strengthening and remediation to restore the affected elements’ safety and structural performance.
Radian’s work extended to supervising structural remediation on site, verifying compliance with approved solutions, reviewing material safety and quality reports, proposing additional measures where required, and approving high-performance repair materials, through to remediation of the fire damage and safe completion of the project.
This project demonstrates Radian’s ability to address a complex structural emergency in a major healthcare facility, combining engineering damage diagnosis, structural assessment, repair and strengthening design, and construction supervision. Following completion of the remediation and the hospital, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, may God protect him, approved renaming Buraidah General Hospital as King Salman Hospital.
