Urban Planning and Integrated Design for Major Residential Land Developments – Riyadh Municipality

Building on Riyadh Municipality’s confidence in Radian’s major urban planning capabilities—classifying it among the highest planning categories for all land areas, including major and distinctive schemes—Radian Engineering Consultancy undertook urban planning, studies and integrated engineering designs for municipal land earmarked for private-sector development partnerships under municipal supervision, supporting increased residential land supply and Riyadh’s rapid urban growth.

The project covers seven major development sites with a combined area exceeding 8.37 million m². Radian prepared master plans and detailed plans; land-use and density studies; road, circulation, parking, public-space, green-space and landscape planning; and integrated designs for roads, stormwater and flood drainage, wastewater, potable water, electricity, lighting, telecommunications and irrigation networks. It also prepared the studies and drawings required for approvals by the relevant authorities.

The achievement is particularly significant given the exceptional delivery programme: the full scope was scheduled for completion in just 80 days, despite the number and scale of sites and the overlapping planning, study and infrastructure design activities. This required concurrent workstream management and mobilisation of multiple engineering disciplines to complete the plans and approval procedures within a highly compressed timeframe.
