Master Plan Development, Hydrological Studies, Infrastructure Design and Construction Supervision
Wahat Mulham is a large-scale development in Riyadh Region extending over more than 48 million m² (48 km²). It includes extensive land designated for resorts, private leisure retreats, and recreational and family uses, in a prominent location in Mulham, north of Riyadh, connected to major routes and close to the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Centre in Mulham.
Radian Engineering Consultancy reviewed and developed the approved master plan and prepared the necessary planning and engineering modifications and improvements in accordance with the relevant authorities’ technical requirements. The work integrated land uses, the road network, infrastructure and flood protection requirements.
Given the site’s considerable size and the numerous wadis and natural drainage channels within it, Radian conducted extensive specialist hydrological studies. These covered catchments, stormwater and flood flow paths, protection and drainage requirements, and completion of study approvals with the Saudi Geological Survey.
Based on these findings, Radian adapted and revised the master plan to meet flood protection requirements, preserve wadis and natural drainage channels, identify suitable development routes and areas, and exclude flood-prone locations from designated uses and development. This supports the safety and sustainability of the plan while maintaining the efficiency of natural drainage.
Radian also undertook engineering design and connected the development’s components to roads, infrastructure and utility networks. Its role extended to site supervision and quality control during infrastructure construction, verifying compliance with approved drawings and engineering requirements.
